HEllO From OSKALOOSA IOWA!!! Happy Birthday MOM!!
Thursday was transfers! We left Waukee around 830 and got to Iowa City around 1020. During transfers we usually have a few talks and stuff like that before we get to  where we will be getting transferred. Anyway.. I got called to serve with Elder Cutler in Oskaloosa! We’re going to have a great time, he’s been out for 17 months, basically one transfer behind me. So we’ve both been out for a little while, which is really nice. So the crazy news about the whole thing is.. we are both getting transferred from different areas, so we both don’t know the area were we are called to .. we call this a white wash( when both missionaries are transferred out) Elder cutler and I are going into an area, not knowing a single person there.. ya I didn’t even expect it at all. I know that the Lord needs us there for a good reason though...
The past few days have been super crazy, we’ve both never opened an area like this before, so were just figuring it out right now. A lot of our time right now is spent planning and calling people to figure out where we need to go. The branch here is really awesome though.. so it’s not going to be that hard to find out what we need to do. This Sunday was great, but way different than Waukee... the ward life and the branch life are pretty different.. I love it here already though! I know that it’s going to be a great transfer and many more depending on how long the Lord needs me here.. I was able to get up and bare my testimony to the branch on Sunday too.. things are going great!
I will miss the great people of Waukee! and all of the investigators that I had the chance to teach and get to know. You can find great things in any area that you go, no matter the people or the circumstances. Remember that.. NICOLE... :)
So our apartment is a little bit different than the good old mansion... we live in a barn by a grape vineyard.. It’s super awesome! see pictures... You really get the chance to go to some neat places out in the missionary field.. All I know is that it’s going to be a fun time here, getting to know all the people. Haha funny story.. so one of the members here is from Draper Utah.. she went to Alta high school too.. I could have sworn that I’ve seen her before.. small world right.. anyway that is some of the cool stuff that’s going on in my life!
The weather is crazy here.. last week it was in the 100's.. now it’s dropped to the 70's and 80's.. it will be winter before I know it.. hopefully later than sooner..
I sent you a package Mom.. so it should get to you at the end of the week.. it also has a few things I don’t need any more out here in the mission field.. I hope you have a great week! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!
LUV!!! YOU ALL!! LOVE ELDER KIRTON!!

Transfer coming up!

He promises pictures next week.

HELLO! FROM Waukee Iowa

and good bye from Waukee Iowa as well!

Ya I got the news on Friday, I am being called to another part of the good old Iowa Des Moines mission. I will be heading to transfers on Thursday and will know where I am headed that same day. I am super sad to leave this awesome area, but I am always excited to meet new people and see new places. I know that the Lord is in everything that we do, so it’s going to be the perfect place for me to learn. It’s hard to believe that’s it’s already been six months here in Waukee and four and a half with Elder Maughan! We have a great time together and learned much from each other, as well as the people here. This could be one of my last transfers, since I only have 6 months left, but you never know what is in store. I will still be a Zone leader where ever I go, I am grateful to still be in this calling! I really enjoy it a lot, it’s stressful at times but it really helps you learn a lot. So that’s really the biggest news of the week here.

We’ve been working really hard to get H.... ready for baptism, these past few weeks. The only sad news is, it’s not looking like it’s going to happen before I leave. It’s all good though, I know the Lord has plans for him and his family. I’ll have to get a picture with him before I leave. hopefully...It’s been a great learning experience here in Waukee, with all of the people we’ve been teaching. It truly is a miracle that anyone gets baptized, with all of the false, even anti material.. It’s super sad to see all of the people around us, miss out on something that can absolutely change there life’s, just because someone else says it’s not true. You must try it out for yourself and ask God if it’s true. .. I won’t go on a rant about that though.. haha it’s whatever:)

So school sounds like it’s going well for everyone so far..  even  Kalhin will be going to school! Man everyone is growing up so much now.. not me though.. I still look the same.. maybe.. haha! Let me know how it goes for everyone.

It’s a special day on the 2nd! Happy birthday to you MOM! I am sending it now, because the library is closed on Monday! So I will give you an early happy birthday! you’re turning like 36 right? haha whatever the number have a good one for me! I’ll try my best to find something good for you.. love you!

There is so much that I’ve learned that it’s impossible to even like about trying to write it down.. I have really been thinking about that lately.. 2 years is a long time of learning and progressing.. I think I’ll have to write a book on the mission someday.. Most importantly! The church is as true as it’s ever going to be, until Christ comes again... No matter the person or the place, you can always talk to people about the gospel.. try it sometime! Refer them to the missionaries after, we always love getting Member Referrals.. They have a very high rate of baptism.. Numbers don’t mean anything, but the Lord does number his children and he knows everyone of them!

I am grateful to serve! Thanks so much for all of your support and love! Have Great week!

LOVE ELDER THOMAS JAY KIRTON!!

Exciting week for TJ.

Hey there family!

So the email worked great this time and the pictures came through as well, looks like they had some fun out on the water. They look so old now.. haha not to much older. I’ve had a great week as a missionary here in Waukee and this week is looking even better. Today we have 3 lessons set up, with the possibility of 3 new investigators, I am super excited!

About transfers, they are next week, crazy huh? I think I just emailed you all about that just the other day. There’s no way I could remember everything out here.. thank you journal.. if I write in it haha mom I write in it! just for you! Anyway this Friday we will receive our transfer doctrine, on where we will go. I am on target to leave, do to the fact that I’ve been here for 6 months.. I really love it here and would love to stay another, but I will go where ever the Lords needs me to go. You will know next Monday what happens:)

This week we had the wonderful opportunity to go out with President J...., well I guess he came out with us in our area. haha.. We had a great time and taught some awesome lessons. I used to be super nervous around the President when I first came out on a mission.. That’s probably just because I was scared that I wouldn’t know what to say. Now since we are around him all the time, we really get the chance to know him on a more personal level. I know that President J..... and Sister J..... are called of God for us here in the Iowa Des Moines mission. I’ve learned a lot from both of the mission Presidents so far! I wish you could spend some time with them as well.

The lessons we’ve had with H.... have been great! We are shooting for the end of the month to get him baptized, so I will let you know how that goes. He’s such a great man, that has changed a lot. His wife, V......., is also learning right now. We are just praying that we can help them get baptized within the next couple of weeks. The sad part is, they are moving at the end of the month.. but our mission president gave us permission to continue teaching them.. which doesn’t usually happen.. YES!

It’s super good to hear from you again! I hope school goes great for everyone! I miss you all! These six months are going to go fast, but they are going to be a great learning experience for me!

LOVE ALWAYS

New suit looks great!

How’s the fam fam doing?
I hope that you’ve had a great time at Pinedale Wyoming and that you’re all safe! This was a great week for us as well, here in the good old state of Iowa. We’ve had plenty of powerful meetings this week, that will hopefully continue to motivate us to finish this year off strong! Meetings as a missionary are super awesome, I wish everyone could participate in them. As always the spirit of missionary work continues to flow through the air and around the world.
The first meeting we had this week is called Mission Leadership Council, it’s like the best meeting ever! All of the zone leaders, assistance to the president and the mission president are there. It really does make a great meeting, 100% focused on missionary work! We receive the instruction from the mission president who gets it from the first presidency so it’s super cool! That’s just one of the great privileges as a missionary.
Well working in the Waukee area this week, we saw a lot of miracles with the people that we are teaching. Not only those that we are teaching but new people to teach. H... is someone that I’ve talked about before, he’s doing great and came to church this Sunday with 3 of his kids. We finally taught his wife after months of working with H..... It was so awesome to be able to teach them both, now we can work on getting the who family to church. It’s a long process but they are super prepared for this gospel. We have a lesson with V.....(H...'s wife), so hopefully it will go well.
As we were walking around the area where most of our members live, the Lord placed people in our pathway that are willing to listen to the message we share. Walking on 20 minutes around the area, we talked to two people that wanted us to come back. We ended up teaching one of them, who happens to have been taught by missionaries in the past. E... is the man’s name and he has a great story. He’s speaks English, but is from Vietnam. We seem to find all kinds of people around these parts. We’ve given out a Vietnamese and an Arabic book of Mormon already.. just goes to show that no matter the person, the gospel can help them. The only way we can teach them is through the spirit, we would be totally lost without it.
A funny story for the week happened on Sunday. H.... came to church and stayed the whole time, so when priesthood came around he attened it. President P...., the stake president was there today as well. So he stood up and started talking about the missionary work of the stake and the work of salvation broadcast. Well he asked everyone why are you a Mormon. as everyone was thinking after his question.. he walked over to H.... and asked him why he’s a Mormon? ... H....'s said I’m not a Mormon sir.. and president p.... said well why not? so after a few minutes H.... turned to us and said why am I not a Mormon.. so were like H.... we are working on it.. haha it was super funny! It definitely sparked Henrys desire a little bit! So my question to everyone that reads this letter is.. Why are you a Mormon? you never know when someone will ask you..
I am a Mormon, because I know that this is the true gospel and that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God. As well being a Mormon makes me super happy and I have a knowledge of why I am here and where I am going. Jesus Christ is the Savior and the Book of Mormon is true! that’s why I am a Mormon!
I love you all! hope you have a great week! Get ready for school to start! love you all! YOU’RE THE BEST!

Family vacation in Pinedale, Wyo.

HEY HOWDY!

I am glad that you’ve made it safe and sound to Pinedale Wyoming! How’s the water? I hope that everyone has a great time and doesn’t get into too much trouble! You’ll have to save me spot next year..

BRET!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY!! HOPE YOU HAVE A SUPER FUN DAY! 9 years old! you are too old.. I hope you like you present.. LOVE YA! LITTLE MAN!!

This past week has had its ups and downs, just for a few reasons.. I got sick again with the same thing I had before, but this time it was a little worse. I went to the doctor on Tuesday, but then Thursday came around and I had to go back, but all is good now! Priesthood blessings always do the trick, because they really work! That was the only bad news for the week luckily! haha

We’ve been getting to know a lot of the new members that have been moving into the ward, since school is starting up here really soon. New medical students keep showing up, so we help them move in and get them ready to do some missionary work! It’s so great! Most of them keep moving in from Utah! so we seem to know a lot of the same places which is really nice. My time in Waukee has been so much fun and I have learned a lot while staying here as well. Maybe I’m supposed to be a doctor, since we work with a lot the students here.. haha it’s just a thought though..

The other day we were talking to a less active lady and of course trying to help her return to activity.. well we ended up talking about a lot of family history! I than found myself desiring to know a lot more about the whole topic... so when I get back we are going to have to go over a few things.. what do you think? anyway I would have never thought that I would desire to do a lot of that until I was a little bit older.. I just figured it’s for older people.. haha sorry grandma's and grandpa's.. haha you’re still totally awesome!

We’ve been teaching a lot of the same people for a little while now and were getting to the point were either they will be baptized or will have to let some other missionaries teach them.. we are really working hard to get two baptisms this month, will see where the Lord takes us with this goal.

How’s everyone Preach My Gospel reading going? hopefully you’ll be able to do that on a weekly bases.. I have found that it really helps keep you centered in the plain and precious doctrine.. a lot of times I fill like we can get too carried away by every wind doctrine and sometimes that results in doubt and inactivity in the gospel that we know to be true! Remember Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the end! is the most important thing to study and remember!

Again! I love you all and hope you have a very fun trip at the good old lake! Save some fish for me!

LOVE YOU!

Action packed week!

HEY FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

WE HAD ANOTHER ACTION PACKED WEEK, FULL OF MISSIONARY EXPERIENCES AND MIRACLES. THE WORK IS SO GREAT AND ALWAYS REWARDING WHEN YOU FIND JUST THAT ONE THAT IS READY FOR THE GOSPEL! IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR ENJOYING THE MISSIONARIES OVER THERE IN THE WARD. WE'RE SO MUCH BETTER THOUGH.. HAHA JUST KIDDING.. HEY MISS YOU GUYS AND HOPE YOU HAVE ANOTHER FUN TRIP TO PINEDALE WYOMING! ITS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT YOUR ALL READY LEAVING THIS WEEK.. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? SO ILL BE SENDING A PACKAGE OF TODAY SO YOU SHOULD GET IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE.. HOPEFULLY!

THIS TUESDAY WE HAD OUR FIRST SET OF INTERVIEWS WITH PRESIDENT J..... AND SISTER J....... I ENJOYED GETTING TO KNOW THEM A LITTLE BIT MORE, IT’S TOO BAD YOU ONLY HAVE ABOUT 15 MINUTES WITH HIM. BUT HEY HES A VERY BUSY MAN. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE ABOUT 50 INTERVIEWS TO DO THAT DAY.. THEY ARE GOING TO BE SO GREAT FOR THIS MISSION AND I AM GOING TO GET TO KNOW A LOT BETTER HERE AS THE MONTHS CONTINUE ON.

WELL THIS WEEK WE HAD A LOT OF NEW PEOPLE MOVE INTO THE WARD... A LOT OF MEDICAL STUDENTS GETTING READY TO START SCHOOL UP. THE AREA WHERE WE SERVICE HAS A LOT OF STUDENTS IN IT, LIKE 15 FAMILES OR SO... WE ENJOY DOING MISSIONARY WORK WITH THEM, BECAUSE THERE ALL ONLY 3-5 YEARS OLDER THAN WE ARE.. SO WE GET ALONG PRETTY WELL.. PLENTY OF MIRACLES FOR THE WARD.. SO WEVE BEEN TEACHING A LADY THAT LIVES IN THE APARTMENT COMPLEXES WITH ALL OF THE STUDENTS LATELY.. SHE IS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN, SHES SUPER NICE.. BUT WE DONT HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN OR AFRICAN IN THE WARD.. OTHER THAN N.... WHO GOT BAPTIZED. BUT GUESS WHAT THE LORD PROVIDED ANOTHER MIRACLE FOR US.. A LADY MOVED INTO THAT SAME COMPLEX AS HER AND IS A MEMBER. SHE JUST GOT BAPTIZED ABOUT A YEAR AND HALF AGO AND IS SUPER STRONG IN THE GOSPEL.. SHES AFRICAN AMERICAN TOO... IT’S SO GREAT TO SEE HOW THE LORD WORKS..

WE ENDED UP TEACHING HER MOM AS WELL, THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT SHE DOESNT SPEAK VERY GOOD ENGLISH.. SHE SPEAKS ARABIC.. SO WE GOT HER AN ARABIC BOOK OF MORMON WE ARE PRAYING THAT SHE READS IT AND DESIRES TO LEARN MORE..

TODAY I FEEL LIKE I GOT HIT BY A BUS... WELL THE STORY BEHIND IT IS... ON SATURDAY WE WENT A PLAYED FOOTBALL EARLY IN THE MORNING WHICH WAS SUPER FUN.. RIGHT AFTER WE HELPED SOMEONE MOVE.. WELL THAT SAME NIGHT WE ENDED UP HELPING SOMEONE MOVE AND AT THE LAST MINUTE.. SO THE LAST FEW DAYS IT’S BEEN HARD TO WALK... HAHA O WELL LUCKILY ITS PDAY..

I JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU GUYS AND HOPE THAT YOU HAVE A SUPER SAFE TRIP TO PINEDALE... HAVE A LITTLE FUN BUT NOT TO MUCH FUN WITH OUT ME.. HAHA ILL CATCH YOU NEXT YEAR.. BRET HAVE A EARLY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! LOVE YOU.. KEEP STAYING STRONG IN THE GOSPEL AND EVERYTHING WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPY!

MUCH LOVE AND SUPER LOVE AND EXTRAORDINARY LOVE!!

Sweet Bike

Beautiful Sunset in Iowa!

HEY!! HELLO!! HEY!!

It’s been another great week here in the mission field, in the Waukee Iowa! Draper Days sounded super fun.. and the boys look like they are definitely ready for a good hunt.. haha.. Ryan is down for a little bit he’s still alive that’s good.. love you man.. get better soon.. So the crazy thing is..  ,the N......, the ones we live with, were down in Utah for a little bit. I would of sent you some stuff if I would have known.. they didn’t have a whole lot of time though.. Brother N...........s dad lives pretty close to the Draper temple, small world huh?. Keep having plenty of fun!

This week we experienced a few new changes in the ward. On Thursday we had sisters come into the ward, like I was telling you about.. We split the ward, now we don’t get to see everyone we’ve been working with as much. It’s all good though, the work will move forward faster with two sets here now.. The whole zone now has two sets of missionaries in every ward. so its super cool to see the hastening of the work happen right in front of us. We didn’t have a lot of time this week to do a lot of missionary work, do to the changes and stuff, we’ve been getting a lot of stuff ready for the new missionaries coming in.. it’s all part of the zone leader stuff, we have a good time with it though. I really enjoy doing it all as well..

This Sunday we had a crazy thing happen at church... one of the recent converts that was baptized about a year ago, decided to come to church.. but.. he came with a bat and wasn’t too happy with the church and what’s going on with his life. Luckily he didn’t do anything super crazy.. We had to go out with our ward mission leader, who happens to be a cop, and talk to him a little bit. Everything worked out great and no one was hurt.. Things that people will do sometimes.. people are crazy..

We had a couple of great lessons this week, with a few of the investigators that we’ve been working with.. Sometimes I wonder how people can deny the spirit when it hits them super hard.. But hey we just have to help them recognize it, because the gospel is true and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ’s church here on the earth, God will answer anyone if they will but ask God with faith in Christ, a sincere heart and real intent! The great thing about the work is that it is so true and that’s something no one can take from me at all... No matter the bad times and hard times, you can always know that the work is true and that motivates you to do better.. I love the work!

LOVE ELDER KIRTON!

Strength in numbers!

HEY THERE!!!! YOU’RE THE BEST!! FAM! EVER!!

SO, THE WEEK HAS BEEN SUPER FUN! WEVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF MISSIONARY WORK.. JUST LIKE ALWAYS... HAHA THAT’S WHY IT’S ALWAYS THE BEST WEEK EVER! JUST DO MISSIONARY WORK AND YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE GREAT WEEKS, NO MATTER THE SITUATION! IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD A FUN WEEK WITH MRS. WILSON AND THE WARD! I HOPE WE WILL HAVE A FEW MORE WARD ACTIVITIES COMING UP IN THE FUTURE.

MAN A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GOING ON MISSIONS IN THE WARD, WHICH IS SUPER AWESOME, WE ALWAYS NEED MORE MISSIONARIES OUT HERE! NICOLE IS TOTALLY GOING TO COME TO THE IOWA DES MOINES MISSION.. HAHA WOULDN’T THAT BE SUPER CRAZY! WELL SHE WOULD BE IN THE BEST MISSION IN THE WORLD, SO .. YA... OCT IS THE DAY.. THAT’S COOL, I BET YOU ARE ALL ANXIOUS FOR THAT DAY..

THE MISSIONARIES THAT GOT INTO THE CAR WRECK ARE DOING A LOT BETTER, THE ONE JUST HAS TO DO A LITTLE REHAB FOR A WHILE, DO TO THE FACT THAT HE HAD BRAIN TRAMA! I SAW SOME PICTURES OF THE CAR THE OTHER DAY, AND MAN.. YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE THAT HE COULD OF WALKED AWAY FROM THE WRECK.. BUT THE LORD WATCHES OVER US ALL!

ON TUESDAY, I WAS SICK FOR ABOUT HALF THE DAY, WITH A SINUS INFECTION, BUT MEDS.. ALWAYS SEEM TO FIX THAT.. HAHA THAT WAS THE ONLY BAD PART OF THE WHOLE WEEK!

THE OTHER EXCITING NEWS FOR THE WEEK IS, THAT WE ARE GETTING SISTERS IN OUR AREA. WHICH MEANS WE HAVE TO SPLIT THE AREA AND STUFF. THEY WILL BE COMING IN ON THURSDAY. IT WILL HELP US OUT A LOT, ITS SUPER HARD TO GET EVERYTHING DONE THAT YOU WANT TO HERE. WE JUST DONT HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO DO IT. WE WILL THEN HAVE A SUPER SMALL AREA, MOST LIKELY THE SMALLEST THAT I’VE EVER BEEN IN! ABOUT 2 MILES BY 3 MILES.. THIS NEXT TRANSFER IS GOING TO BE CRAZY, O YA BY THE WAY I’M STAYING IN WAUKEE AGAIN.. YES! WAUKEE IS THE BEST! SO THAT MEANS THAT I’LL BE IN THIS AREA FOR 6 MONTHS! ELDER MAUGHAN IS ALSO STAYING! WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT TRANSFER AND HOPEFULLY BAPTIZE A FEW PEOPLE!

ON SATURDAY THERE WAS A BAPTISM FOR THE DES MOINES WARD, IT’S THE ASSISTANCE'S WARD. THE FAMILY THAT GOT BAPTIZED, IS THE FAMILY THAT WE’VE BEEN HELPING TEACH. SINCE THEY ARE ALWAYS OUT OF TOWN. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE TO SEE THEM GET BAPTIZED THIS PAST SATURDAY! THERE WERE 7 TOTAL THAT GOT DUNKED! H...... ALSO CAME TO THE BAPTISM SO THAT WAS A BLESSING AS WELL.. ONE OF THESE DAYS WE ARE GOING TO GET HIM AND HIS FAMILY BAPTISED!

WELL THIS WEEK BEEN AMAZING AND THE NEXT 6 SHOULD BE AWESOME TOO.. SO A THE RELEASE DATE IS GOING TO BE THE 14 OF FEBRUARY.. MOST LIKELY .. IT’S NOT SET IN STONE, BUT IT’S A GOOD GUESS..

ENOS IS A REALLY GOOD CHAPTER THAT TALKS ABOUT PRAYER. UM.. D&C 9 IS ALSO A GOOD ONE TO.. IT HELPS UNDERSTAND HOW WE CAN RECEIVE ANSWERS TO OUR PRAYERS.. HOPEFULLY THESE ARE GOOD, I JUST KNOW THAT WE COULDN’T DO MISSIONARY WORK WITHOUT PRAYER! IT WOULD BE SUPER HARD AND IT JUST WOULDN’T WORK VERY WELL.. WHEN YOU PRAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT IT CAN COME IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM.. THROUGH OTHER PEOPLE.. ETC.. BUT IT DOES WORK!

I LOVE YOU ALL AND HOPE YOU HAVE A SUPER AMAZING WEEK!

MUCHO LOVE ELDER KIRTON!!

THANKS FOR THE PACKAGE KARA AND THE LETTERS!!

Frizbee Golf Fun

O Family! who aret in Utah,

Yes it has been a fun week for us as well, with the 4th and other exciting things that have happened this week with the new mission president. I did get the package you sent, thanks so much for everything! We already ate all of the popcorn though.. haha it was great.

The fourth of July was a super fun day for us, we were out doing missionary work till about 6 and then had to park the car, so no drunk drivers will hit us.. So we basically get an extra pday from 6 and on. The O..... family had us over, they are from Brazil, so they really know how to throw a party. Sorry I didn’t get any picks for you. That same night we watched very few fireworks and more fireflies. haha yah the fire flies are out again, I wish you could see them they are super sweet! But anyway that wase basically our day. So did you do a lot of fireworks?

Nicole going on a mission is super super sweet! It’s something that is super hard to describe, but so worth every minute of it. It’s a perfect time to go, there’s no reason to wait. Well mom it looks like you’ll have a couple more years ahead of you. haha.. no worries though, when doing the Lords work, he provides safely as long we’re obedient. So when are the papers going in? I bet she goes out of the country.. anyway I am way excited for her!

So we’ve been teaching this kid named K.... F..... lately, he’s only 19. He’s one of the smartest kids I’ve ever taught before. That’s a good thing, but also a bad thing. He came to church on Sunday, so that was way awesome. H.... is also doing great and always has some  crazy stories that he shares with us. He’s such a great man, hopefully we can get him baptized soon:)

It’s hard to believe that this transfer is already over next week, it sure fills like it was yesterday. The things that I have learned are very hard to put in words, at least all of them. The more I learn about the gospel the more it seems to make sense to me, why where here and what we need to do to return to our Father in Heaven. Keep reading and praying always so the spirit of the Lord can be with you, so will not be tempted. How’s the reading and praying going?.. every day?

Well the summer is hot and well here in Iowa. We just got done playing a little Frisbee golf with Brother S......, it was a great time. I hope you all have a great summer and enjoy the pool! We will talk really soon, like next week. Be safe you all! loves all around!!

News from TJ

The whole zone from last month.

Dear Family!!

It’s so good to hear from you this week! We have had a good week and we’re able to meet our new mission President yesterday. President Jensen and Sister Jensen are super sweet! I am excited to serve with him and get to know a little bit more about him and his life. We learned a little bit about him yesterday, he’s a pretty well known man to some. He’s created the GPS system that the army uses and has like 40 well known books that have been published. He is definitely a well educated man and a very spiritual man at that. I know that it’s going to be lots of fun for the next 7 months that I have left.

I hope Ryan gets better soon, so he can head back out as soon as possible. President Jensen announced a few of the new things that will be happening here in the future of missionary work. I am excited to see the new changes take place and see how they will impact the way we find and teach. One of the big changes will mostly be, is the use of the Internet, we received word that we could possibly be getting some apple equipment... ipad or something like that.. It’s going to be interesting. I will most definitely be updating you on it here in the future.

When President Jensen arrived on Saturday June 29th, he received a call that no mission president would ever want to hear. A couple of missionary’s were hit in their car, while driving back to their apartment. It wasn’t just any old crash. One of the missionary had to be life flighted to the Des Moines hospital. The other missionary is doing well and is out of the hospital right now. the other is still in intensive care and hasn’t woken up all the way yet. It’s a super stressful time for him as a new mission president. It goes to show that there are two forces at work right now, but I know that the Lord will assist in the great cause of missionary work. It has been an interesting start for us with the new mission president, one that we hopefully unite us more!

So this past week we’ve been working with a few people. H….. and T…. have been a focus of ours, for a few weeks now. The other day we went over to invite him to a bbq that the members were putting on... so H…. has this brand new 2013 dodge charger right.. so we asked him when he was going to give us a ride in it, he’s just like, well one of these days come over and all let you take it out for a spin.. the down side is that one of the rules is no driving members or others cars.. I just thought it was super funny. They are doing well, T…… brought a bunch of friends to church, so I hope everything will continue going well with them.

For the good news.. Everything is well in Waukee! We are enjoying our p-day today and will try to have some fun. How about all of you? So it’s super hot there and you’ve got the pool up, sounds fun:) We are still enjoying mild summer temperatures right now. The work must still go on! I love you all and hope that you have a great 4th of July weekend!
Make sure to watch that Sunday broadcast I was talking about! it’s great! love you!
