Summertime in Iowa

Hi! Family!

I am glad that you got the picture that S.... sent you on Sunday night.. We had a lesson over at the T......'s house. We were teaching a kid named J...., the funny part about the whole thing is that he’s actually in the other ward. I wish those guys were in our ward, they’re super sweet. So did you get an email from Sister T......? I think I gave her the wrong email address.. woops.. I have the right one now so I will have to tell her. Anyway the lesson went well at their place, but J..... still wants to finish the Book of Mormon before he decides to get baptized.. well he’s in 3 Nephi already so it won’t take him very long to finish it up. He’s also moving back to northwest Iowa, out of our mission.. :(.. but hopefully he decides to come back or meet with the missionaries over there..

So I have some exciting news for you all.. we will be having a baptism on June 9th for B.... He’s already to go! I think I told you a little about his story last week, but maybe not.. anyway, he’s been learning about the church for the last year from his member friends. And was taught in Mason City where I came from. So he was well informed on the doctrine of the church, we basically just had to make sure he know that it’s true and that he received all of the right information. He did and we set a date this past week! He just barely got interviewed this morning. Now it just the waiting game and praying game. It’s been such a blessing to teach him. That’s basically all of the exciting news...

The weather has been super rainy, but finally the sun popped out today and it’s nice and warm. It’s definitely a weird year for Iowa. We haven’t even hit 90 yet.. last year we hit that a long time ago. but hey we are enjoying the cooler weather here.. :)

So next week school is out that is so awesome! man what are you guys going to do? haha I know what we are going to do here.. share the gospel.. You will have to send me some pictures of what you guys end up doing? same goes for me..

So mom to answer your question.. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, talk all about Christ’s life.. there basically what you would call the gospels.. Really that’s a big reason why they are a lot longer than most of the other books... and I doesn’t help that a lot of the original books have been taken out of the bible.. hence we believe the bible to be true as long as it is translated correctly.. hopefully that helps a little bit..
Transfers are also next week, so calls will be Saturday.. I won’t be going anywhere right now.. so no worries..

HEY!

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Springtime in Waukee, Iowa

HEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Ya it’s crazy how Mother’s Day is already here and gone... Graduation! Nice I bet Nicole is super excited to get out of high school. I know that it was a great experience for me and it was a fast one for that matter. Well summer is coming super fast, I can feel the heat coming on over here in Iowa now. We had a nice storm yesterday, with a tornado warning and everything... it was sweet! haha but it wasn’t as bad as they were thinking. We were driving home last night and the rain started coming down super hard, we couldn’t really see very far because of all the rain. A tornado did touch down in Dallas center, which is about 20 minutes away. We haven’t heard anything about it yet, but we’ll see. I would have to say one the cool things about Iowa, is the storms! They are something else around these parts!

We had a lot more time this week to work in our area, so we were out doing a lot of finding. As we were out we obviously ran into a lot of people and talked with a bunch of them. There was one guy in particular that we talked to for about 10 minutes outside his apartment. As we started talking to him about church and God.. things like that.. we were able to talk about his beliefs. He expressed that his beliefs are a little different then ours.. God to him doesn’t really interact with our lives, kinda like 3rd person. As we continued to talk to him about the gospel, he wasn’t really getting it or believing it. So I asked him about after this life.. where he thinks we will go? He just said basically that we just die and there’s nothing else after that.. so I was in my mind just thinking, why would anyone want to believe something like that... but I guess people do. How miserable this life is with a belief as such as that. I am grateful for the plan that our Heavenly Father has for us. Its gives us purpose in life and a sense of belonging. This life isn’t just to come and die and that’s it, we have a much bigger plan.. one that we can’t really comprehend. I don’t know.. it might just be me, but I really fill bad for anyone that could believe such a thing. It goes to show where we’re at in this world, we’ve forgotten so much. Read the Book of Mormon and find out where we are at in the swing of things. I know that when we follow the commandments we will prosper! Love God and serve others! That’s my testimony

It’s great to hear from you all! I hope you continue to stay safe in your travels! I miss you and love you!

Press to the wheel! Don’t look back, but move forward to Christ!

One of the best Mother's Day gitfs, to see and talk to him!!! He is doing awesome.

Well hello again!

It was such a good boost for me, to see all of you yesterday! I am glad that everyone is looking so good and doing so well right now. It’s such a blessing to have such a great family, back home that is so supportive! Thanks so much! I know that we talked about a lot of stuff already so I don’t have a whole lot to talk about right now, other than I didn’t really talk about the little miracles on Sunday.

This past week was really busy and all with all of the meetings. We really didn’t have a whole lot of time in our own area this week. The meetings are very important, but I’m glad that we have a full week to stay in our area to work. So the whole week we were working really hard trying to find some people to baptize here in May. We haven’t seen a whole lot of success just yet, we do have a few people that are definitely possibilities for May, but not super solid. Anyway this Sunday we had a few investigators come to church that we haven’t taught yet..:) B.... came with a bunch of his friends that he works with. The coolest part of the story is that he came from Mason City, where I just recently came from. I missed him by a week or two, so he has been taught a little bit already and already has a date that he’s shooting for.. July 1st.. We just got done playing some basketball with him and his friends. Tomorrow we will start teaching him, so it’s going to be super sweet!

The other miracle was with a member that brought a friend to church, and she brought her kids and boyfriend. We are going to start teaching them hopefully this week sometime.. She used to be Jehovah witness, but isn’t anymore.. luckily. So that was a few of the Lord’s miracles that we’ve seen here. I know that he’s got a few more in store for us if we keep pushing to the wheel.

Time flies when you’re having lots of fun and that’s what we like to do around here, but we also like to get work done! If you’re not having a good time, than I don’t think it could be the Lord’s work. He wants to make us super happy and joyful, so all we have to do is follow his commandments and spirit! If we do so we will have more happiness and joy in our life, if we are living the commandments and we’re not happy it’s because we need to repent of the mistakes that we’ve done. Repentance is not meant to make us feel bad, it’s there so it will take off the burdens that we put on ourselves. I would invite everyone to make repentance a daily thing with the Lord.. :)

I love you all and know that you will always be there for me and I will always be there for you! Have a good week and stay out of trouble!

Peace be with you till next week!

HEY! BUDDIES! FAM! COUSINS! FRIENDS!
SO YA I AM SUPER EXCITED TO SEE YOU ALL ON SUNDAY! IT FEELS LIKE YESTERDAY THAT I WAS ABLE TO TALK TO YOU GUYS, WHICH IS SUPER CRAZY TO THINK ABOUT. SO WE ARE PLANNING TO SKYPE YOU AT 7.. SO IT WOULD ABOUT 6 FOR YOU GUYS.. HOPEFULLY THATS FINE.. BUT IF NOT WILL WORK SOMETHING OUT FORSURE. I AM GLAD THAT YOUVE HAD A GOOD WEEK, WITH SOME SUPER NICE WEATHER OVER THERE. YOU’RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE IT BUT WE HAD 3 INCHES OF SNOW THE OTHER DAY.. I KNOW RIGHT.. EVERYONE AROUND HERE THINKS ITS CRAZY TOO!
MOST IMPORTANTLY WEVE HAD A GREAT SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTING WEEK, WITH A LOT OF AMAZING THINGS THAT HAPPENED OVER THE WEEKEND. SO I DIDNT TELL YOU LAST WEEK THAT WE WERE HAVING A MEMBER OF THE QUORUM OF THE 12 APOSTLES COMING.. I HAD TO SURPRISE YOU ALL.. ON SATURDAY WE GOT TOGETHER AS A MISSION, IN IOWA CITY SO WE COULD HERE ELDER NEIL L. ANDERSON COME AND SPEAK TO US.! NOT ONLY HIM BUT WE HAD A FEW MEMBERS OF THE SEVENTY TOO.. ELDER CLAYTON OF THE PRESIDENCY OF THE SEVENTY, ELDER DUBA OF THE SEVENTY WHO WAS JUST RECENTLY CALLED THIS LAST CONFERENCE.. ALL TELL YOU WHY I THINK HE CAME LATER.. ELDER REAUL OF THE SEVENTY AS WELL. IT WAS A SUPER POWERFUL MEETING FOR US. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT OUR MISSION HAS GATHERED TOGETHER FOR A LONG TIME. YA ALL 240 MISSIONARIES WERE THERE, SO IT WAS A SUPER COOL MEETING TO BE APART OF. IT REALLY IS INTERESTING TO SEE THE APOSTLES AND PROPHET ON THE TV, BUT IN PERSON ITS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE. I CAN JUST TESTIFY THAT HE REALLY IS A CHOOSEN APOSTLE OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER! THEY ARE REAL PEOPLE JUST LIKE US, CALLED TO SERVE! THAT WAS THE HIGH LIGHT OF OUR WEEK!
ON SUNDAY WE HAD STAKE CONFERENCE! ELDER DUBA SPOKE AT OUR STAKE AND REALLY TOUCHED A LOT OF THE LIFES OF THOSE THAT WERE THERE.. I HOPE. BUT THE REASON WHY I THINK THAT ELDER DUBA CAME TO SPEAK TO US IS BECAUSE HE IS FROM ZOMBOBWAY, AFRICA. AND N...... W..... IS FROM AFRICA AS WELL, BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF AFRICAN REFUGES THAT ARE IN DES MOINES. THEY ARE A VERY HUMBLE PEOPLE, THAT NOW HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXCEPT THE GOSPEL IN ITS FULLNESS. ONE OF OUR NEW INVESTIGATORS IS FROM AFRICA AS WELL AND SHE WENT TO STAKE CONFERENCE THIS WEEK AS WELL. HER NAME IS J....
WEVE SEEN A LOT OF GREAT THINGS HAPPENING HERE IN THE MISSION AND I KNOW IT IS BECAUSE THE LORD IS HASTENING THE WORK RIGHT NOW, AS WAS TALKED ABOUT IN CONFERENCE. WE ARE WORKING HARD AND SHOOTING FOR A GOAL OF 5 BAPTISMS THIS MONTH, SO WE HAVE OUR WORK CUT OUT FOR US.
AGAIN IM SUPER EXCITED TO SEE ALL OF YOU, THIS MOTHERS DAY! KEEP BEING SAFE AND I WILL SEE YOU SOON! LOVE YOU ALL!
